A friend of mine has an Interarms Whitworth Mark X bolt action rifle in .458 Winchester Magnum. He was wondering if it is a Mauser action but wasn't sure, and I haven't seen the rifle lately. Are the Mark X's an actual Mauser-type action or some other bolt design?

The MkX is for all intents a "real" Mauser M-98 as they are built using original equipment and in the late 1980's they even built actions for Mauser that were marked as such.

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship
