I just had to share this with someone!

Went to the Kettner store in Frankfurt (they have a 100 meter range in the back) to confirm zero for a Drive Hunt tomorrow. Why? Dunno! My rifles are alsways sight-in and nothing was amiss anyway, so three shots later my rifle's back in the slip.

On the way out the door the Manager asked if I'd like to take a look at something (always interesting but more often simply cause me aggrivation and puts me in a predicament with Mrs. Gerry).

He pulled out a Krieghoff Custom Case containing a Classic Double Rifle in a three barrel set, .375 H&H, 500/416 N.E. and 500 N.E.

Wow! Really cool, just begins to describe!

It got the wheels turning cause it was a lot less expensive than I thought it may have been. After we considerd the (remotest) of possibilities and haggled abit I realized that; as much as I really wanted this rifle, a man's got to know his limitations! So to speak. Also conveyed my appreciation for the opportunity although regrets to the Manager.

Got home and called Mrs. Gerry at the office who surprizingly was in a really good mood; EVEN after I mentioned the rifle. Possibilities that an hour previously were only the very remostest glimmer began to vanish and the realm of possibilities began to shed some refreshing light on my dilema.

As I picked up the phone to call Kettner's the telephone rang! Wow! In the display was Kettner's number - talk about magic!

The Manager called to tell me he had just sold it to one of the next customers who walked in!

Have a nice weekend everyone! I'm going on a Driven Day for Wild Boar tomorrow!

Cheers,

Number 10

Gerry,

Sorry you missed that Krieghoff, but it is not the only fine double in Germany! Keep looking and you will find a nice one for yourself.

Well I wasn't going to say it, but I think you hit the nail on the head.
