Does anyone know anything about these guys? I believe they make magnum calibers on short actions which results in some very lightweight rifles. was sitting next to a guy on a plane that uses them, says recoil is less than most magnum calibers.

Cross LYep Michael is in Africa right now--testing

I bought a 416 B&M this spring and am working it up right now. Fine rifle, all gunsmithing through B&M is done at SSK.
You can also check out the "416-458-50 SS B&M Series Cartridges/Rifles" thread here in big bores.
I met Michael at DSC last Jan, super nice guy. Have fun , its not cool-aide just a few differnt ideas.

505 Check out Michael's B&M web site the link is at the bottom of his posts. The B&Ms are great!

PhatmanCheck out the little Super Shorts. They were made for mini mausers and such. Amazing power for a tiny package.
You'll be after the regular size B&M cartridges.
Micheal just ruined a Buff with one shot out of the 458 B&M.
Cheers, John

China Fleet SailorAll I can say is, if their ammo performs anything like their shifters or transmission kits, you're golden.

THey perform, but I don't know crap about shifters! LOL
Here is a photo of the two rifles I have with me right now on the bottom, the top rifle is CCMDocs 600 OK, middle is my 500 MDM and the bottom is the 458 B&M.

China Fleet SailorThat's a good looking kid you've got.
I'm jealous about your hunting buddy.
I don't know how their ammo functions, but their transmission parts have always worked for me for the last 40 years.

I’ve shot Michaels 50 B&M, 50 B&M SS, 458 B&M, and 416 B&M…no fleas on any of them (or the B&M trans parts…LOL).
Truly loved shooting the 50 B&M and 416 B&M, both with French Walnut AI stocks, and if the LOP was about an inch longer Michael wouldn’t have gotten them back…only an exchange of money would have taken place…but they’d have been great as cold weather guns as stocked. Both were very accurate but I was truly impressed with the accuracy of the 416 B&M at approximately 325yds with 350gr Barnes TSX and Swift AF bullets.
The combs on the 458 B&M, with AI French Walnut stock, and the 50 B&M SS (Super Short), with factory synthetic stock, stocks were a bit to sharp and dug into my check bone which eliminated much of the joy of shooting the rifles…but the cartridges were great. It’s surprising just how much punch the Super Short delivers, it would be great for bear in the brush…but the 458 B&M SS would be a better choice if the range stretches out past 200yds...

LionHunterMy hunting partner and I have just ordered rifles from SSK in the 458 B&M. Thanks to Michael's help with developing loads using the CEB #13 and NonCon bullets in our 458Lott rifles, we became convinced that these short B&M cartridges in the short B&M rifle will be an exceptional performer. We won't have them in time for our late September Ele hunt but now we have an excuse to return again next year!

Hey Mike
Very proud to have you and your hunting partner as part of the family! I know you won't be disappointed.
And I am always looking for a NEW EXCUSE to take something new to the field! Could be why I stay so busy trying to come up with something different, or new! Looks like I have a few years ahead of me with some things I have that have not made it to the field yet! In fact, I have a good bit of work ahead of me the next few years, none of the Super Shorts have been out, new 475 B&M needs to be field tested, my little 9.3 B&M has yet to be out (might change in a month, my no shooting buddy is taking one of my 9.3s to Alaska for a goat!) But I would like to see 9.3 in the field too. Then of course the 50 B&M Alaskan lever guns, never had them out either! So I got a few things coming along to keep my field work interesting as well!
All good stuff--Keeps us young!

DWrightHave shot his personal .50 super short and a .416 B&M.
Great cartridges. Go for it!
Michael's a great guy and will give you all the info you need.
The short rifle's they are in handled so well that I chopped off the excess length off the barrel of my .375 Ruger down to 17".
Makes a handy little deep canyon bear rifle now.
