It is more like hypocrisy than irony I think.

In the joke about buying American, I used a foreign built CZ 550 action and German built sights. But I used an American built stock, and an American made barrel, though from where the metal came from I do not know.

If the Model 70 had a different safety, I would be happy with that. No American manufacturer really makes decent open sights, that compare to the NECG available sights, so there isn't much choice.

For better or worse there is just not a lot to pick from.

RIP
CZ is employing Will's neighbors in Kansas.
Buy CZ USA!

I got two of those peeps on the way from NECG. $85 a piece. I was so excited I had hiccups while ordering on phone. Hope the nice lady found my speech intelligible. No Buffalo Trace on board.

BTW, Congrats to the Kansas Champs of NCAA Basketball 2008. patriot

Thanks. Quite the nail-biter last night. Great game.

Chuck,

In a CZ you are mounting the peep site in the rear slot for the scope ring. So you are going to have to shoot the peep or a scope but not both.

Unless you remove the peep in the field and then mount your scope.

My QD rings did not return to zero well enough to do this.

So I would use the peep for elephant and a 1.1 x 6 Swarovski scope for buffalo (largest field of view of any scope).

I replaced my CZ 416 front sight with an optional factory supplied fiber optic front sight. Will this peep work with that?

I haven't shot it yet because it is at the gunsmith's. BTW, I have talley QD lever rings being installed for Leupold 1.5 x 5.

That's the system I'm going to be using, but the rifle isn't complete yet, so don't know. I'd be interested to know what others think on using the peep with the fiber optic front. Any suggestions between the two diameters?

Okay, couple of stupid questions.

If you want to move your point of impact to the right, which way do you move the peep sight? Similarly, if you want to move the poi up, which way to do you adjust the peep for elevation?

Move rear sight right to move right, left to move left, up to go up, down to go down. Spent too many hours shooting iron-sight high power to forget that.
