I am putting together a .505 and I have some questions about loads and components. From the searh function, it seems that most prefer the Hornberner brass to the Bertram. Is this still true? Has anyone tried the Hawk bullets for thin skined game, such as whitetail? Where are the places that offer these components for this round? I have seen Huntington's offering the brass and bullets, but I have not called ot see if they are actually in stock. I see that C&H offers dies, along with a bushing to allow it to be used in the RCBS Rockchucker. What are the dies most commonly used? I need to go ahead and get some smmo, as I need to assemble some dummy rounds inorder to make a magazine and work on the feedin. THanks for your help

Check AR .505 Gibbs for some of Nick's loading data. "Any Shot You Want" by Art Alphin also contains data for this cartridge. George

Huntington's also sells some 505 gas-checked cast bullets that you might want to try for fun loads. They're made by Jim Wisner and well cast.
