Quote: yes, you are totally mistaken in context... No one said a 1000# deer, sir... people said "deer class animals" in one example, and 1000# animals in another... then again, I would have thought a man of YOUR expereince would at least know that deer don't come in 1000# jeffe

TooMany, The .460 Wea Mark V, made in Japan, with the Pendleton integral brake cost me $1000 several years ago and had only three shots fired in it. Evidently three was enough . If you like it, buy it for range practice, but not for hunting. It has too many disadvantages,ie., the non-removal brake, the stock, and the 55 deg bolt swing, two down in magazine, etc, etc, For practice with big bore rifles, it is not too costly as it seems there is a lot of discounted .460 ammo available. Personally, I like the 450 Dakota at 2450 fps, where the Wea ammo should be loaded for hunting anyway. I like the round, however, and would have it built as a custom rifle if I wanted to hunt with it, on a CZ 550 or GMA action and stocked properly. My top price for this rifle today would be $1300, in VG condition, ammo included. Dak

Ray, I suggest you read my previous post (two posts back) in which I quoted several experts who are diametrically opposed to your comments! They say that all you need is a 300, well maybe a 375, as there is NO DIFFERENCE in killing ability between them and the REAL BIG STUFF. jeffeosso, Your comments WERE directed toward 1000 pound animals and 1000 pound animals ONLY! Nowhere did you mention "deer" or "deer sized" or even "deer like". What is the matter, either you believe that there is NO DIFFERENCE or you do believe there is a difference. So do you believe SIZE MATTERS or NOT? Make up you mind man! ASS_CLOWN
