I know that both cartridges have the same rim diameter and the same parent case. What I am trying to figure out is is the rim diameter .640, the same as the .505 Gibbs?

Ed:

That is my question.

If the rim diameter of the .585 AHR and 600 OK is BIGGER than .640, how the heck do they get it into a CZ action and still have enough metal on the bolt to maintain CRF or is it push feed?

Dave

Hi Dave,

My 600 OK is a CRF and my dad's 585AHR will be here later this week and I am certain it is a CRF. As far as I remember, though the case itself is of larger diameter, the rim, slightly rebated is in fact .640"

I'll measure later tonight and post it here.

Dave, the actual diameter is .634 +/- .001. It will fit the CZ action just fine and still maintain CRF.
