Individual custom shop ordered gun, not from one of the 5 gun Safari Collections.

I looked at and almost bought a NIB Winchester custom shop .458 Lott a couple of years ago and IIRC it was around $2,700. I would think it would have to be worth between $2,000 - $3,000 depending on condition and what options it has.

Cheers,
Andy

To begin with I hope that on a Individual Custom Shop 470 Capstick they got the barrel bore correct, it seems none of the Big 5 guns had proper barrels on them. Depends on the features as to the actual value. I see these sort of guns on gunbroker anywhere from $4000-$5000 from time to time. Value? Don't know, don't see many sell. But I don't see them come off the price either. Have not seen any of what you are talking about, just from time to time the Big 5 rifles.

It doesn't have any options to speak of. Jewelled bolt and extractor, leaf rear sight, nice blue. It has the same off the shelf stock as on Classic Safari, previous and current, so no wood upgrade. What's neat about it is the chambering, that's about it. Barrel is massive, tho rifle is not overweight.

For sure by the Custom Shop? Is there a Custom Shop letter with it? With no options I would put it down a lot less than what I originally said. More in line with Cane Rat. Before I did invest, if it is by the Custom Shop, you need to have the barrel slugged for correct bore. Both of mine are much larger than .474.

No not sure it's custom shop. The wood is plain, but I've seen a few pretty generic looking guns come from the "Custom Shop", but they usually have good wood. And I didn't see any paperwork. It's noted on the website among guns made in the past as custom, but again the wood is not special. Could one just special order a 470 Capstick? Wouldn't it have come out of the custom shop by default? I don't need it but thought it might make a good investment. If someone is interested PM me and I'll refer you.

Send me a pm with the info on this gun. I had one built a few years ago, good gun, but sold it about 2 yrs ago or so. It had a 22 inch barrel. And it was plain stock. Would like to see a photo, or info on it. Might have been the one I sold possibly, and I could give you some info on it. Don't worry, I don't need a 470 Capstick.
