Dan Pederson of http://www.cutrifle.com/index.html has stared making a slightly modified verson of the Wells Mauser action, as well as complete rifles. Dan Pedersen was the in-house barrel maker for the late Fred Wells of Wells Sports Store. Those looking for a Mauser type action need to check out his work.

IBT, Thanks for the update, Dan makes some very nice and accurate barrels...it'll be nice to see what they'll be making as far as an updated Fred Wells' M98 Mauser action. Jim "Life's hard; it's harder if you're stupid" John Wayne

Blake 70 His site doesn't carry much info on the action http://www.cutrifle.com/ However, his phone is 928-772-4060 I saw an action at the DSC and a facinatinf action in a stage of maching.

How would these be much different from the Granite Mountain actions, which are basically a very good copy of the Wells actions with a little bit of refinement!

I would hope that he hires a few good machinists and that the delivery time is less than barrels are. I do wish him well (or is it Wells?) Rich

Several years ago I was in Arizona and decided to visit Well's shop. Finding it hidden behind a drug store with the amazing checkered and carved wood fence was an experience in itself. I was very graciously given the royal treatment and shown several actions being prepared for a customer. They were works of art! Each had an integral slide base built in to accommodate a Griffin & Howe ring set. There was an amazing array of wonderful guns resting behind wood panels throughout the shop. I mentioned double rifles and off came a wood panel to reveal treasures. If these actions are close to what Mr. Wells was producing, they are exquisite!
