I sent an e-mail to Barnes a couple of days ago to find out if they had idea when the issues were going to be resolved with respect to the BATF and their solids and, in particular, their flat nose solids. Here is the response I got from Ryan Farr:

Dave
We have not been given any timeline for a ruling from the BATF. They are however, coming here this week so maybe that is a good thing.

Thanks,

If BATF can be shown to have hassled one company for over a year, with no resolution and adversely affecting the company's sales versus competitors, can a civil suit for damages be brought against BATF for unjust harrassment?

416: I have thought similar. And also wondered why the AG for Utah hasn't been asked to petition this inquiry. I'm no lawyer but if a business is conducting legal affairs and all the sudden finds itself under some sort of specious accusation, I would think the State could petition for a 'stay of execution' for lack of a better term while the investigation goes on. If not, all the govt (BATF) would have to do would be to 'investigate' all gun companies indefinitely for manufacturing delivery systems for armor piercing bullets and viola! It's done.... A load of bullshit if there ever was one..

The BATFE coming to your place of business in NEVER a good thing. If they were going to back away from thier issue with particular Barnes bullets, they would simply send them a letter stating that. The reason for their visit, I assure you will have a sinister intent.
