RIP and others are simply using the correct 400 Whelen dimensions and setting their chambers up to allow them to seat the bullets out. Pretty much giving them the same net capacity as the 400PDK 411Hawk etc.

Not being an English major myself, as long as its relatively easily decipherable. I don't worry much about typos.
I was doing a 400 Whelan search and came up with this 411 Hawk thread.
I appreciate all the thotful experiments and rifles built along this 06 case necked up to 41 cal.
Mart; kinda clinched it for me with his Alaskan approach. Like many before I am coming to the conclusion that a bolt action 450/400 equivalent 8 lb rifle with cup and core 400 gr bullets or modern mono metal/ combo/ A Frame bullets will do most of the big game/ dangerous game hunting I will ever need or want.

Yes, 425 Fossdal I believe due to .425" groove diameter of the barrel - if I recollect correctly the bullets are .423" diameter though...

Yep. I knew I should have named the 400PDK the 10.4x67.

With bullets from 180gr to 400 covers a lot of bases. Only issue I've had is lighter bullets staying together. Need to try some top $$ light ones.
