Blaser USA would like to hold a shoot to let you fine folks fire some of our rifles. This would be at no cost to those reading this post or their guests. We would provide the rifles(Blaser/Mauser/Sauer/Rigby) and ammo as well as the running boar target.
What we need from someone on this forum is the place to do it. If some one wants to get with me on this we are prepared to travel and get it going.
Looking for some feedback so let's hear it!

I like Mike Jines suggestion. TX would be perfect and I would try my best to attend.

Take it to Mauritania and use real boars! Plenty of pigs there to test good guns on!

Why keep it in the US?

Tip called me about this Tuesday evening. I thought Bayou Rifles would be an ideal setting. However after talking with the clubs vice president, who thought such a venture would jeopardizes the clubs tax exempt status, I told Tip that there might be too many hoops to jump through to get this approved.

The VP said that having a non paying shoot and telling people where they could eventually buy the kinds of firearms could be detrimental to the clubs tax status.

I am trying to put together a proposal to the club. It has to be approved by the BOD.

That sure sounds like a way overly conservative reaction Rusty. How about when commercial sponsors show up and set up booths, and in many cases actually have freebies to give away, at March of Dimes walks for example? At the Susan B. Koman runs? What if some restaurant donated lunch that was served at the event? If the group is not paying to be there, charging to use anything, forcing anyone to view or use anything in their display . . . hard for me to imagine that jeopardizes anyone's tax exempt status.

There can only be one place! The Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships held the second Sunday of July in beautiful MONTANA. We would love to incorporate your event into ours and start running two days beginning next year. (and we don't have to deal with a bunch of lawyers! Roll Eyes )

Here is a link to the shoot.........

Tipton,

The Safari Rifle Challenge World Championships would be a fun event that is well attended, has previously received media coverage (television and print), and as Jay noted is now in the process of expanding shooting ranges and participant capacity for next year. It might just be a great fit for L & O Hunting Group products.

Talked with Jay and we are working that direction. I'm also working with Rusty on holding one in October of this year.

Fabulous, glad to hear this is possibly in the works Tipton. If I might ask (and feel free to PM, email, or call), if something comes to fruition is it likely that Marc will be participating in some form with regard to the Rigby component or do you envision this likely to be more U.S. centered as far as product representatives?

Best always,
Shawn
