Picked up my Hawkeye African on Tues.. Pretty nice wood and great trigger. I'm guessing around 5#.I'll shoot it as soon as I get my brass. With the single crossbolt do I need to glass bed the stock? Thanks for the replies......PaLuke

Well done on the new rifle

Your question re the bedding......

It might be fine the way it is but IMO Get the bedding done, it's the cheapest insurance you'll pay

Thanks for the reply. Can I do the bedding myself or is it better to have a gunsmith do it? PaLuke

Congratulation thumb

I took mine to the smith and had it bedded and got them to put another cross bolt in the web between the magazine and the trigger.
Then countersunk both bolts and put in nice ebony plugs.

They also took the varnish off and gave the stock a oil finish and put on a Packmayr Decellerator .

Looks really good to be a budget production rifle
