Redding at about $120 + $15 for the shellholder at Grafs - edit:special order though. Back in stock!

Or RCBS Custom at about $100 more.

CH4D $145, but some folk have had dimensional problems with their products.

Run a search in this forum on '404 dies', and you'll get plenty of info.

Cheers,
Doug

I purchased redding from grafs.....they where the cheapest and I reckon redding dies might be better finished than RCBS, I now have my third set of redding on the way.

Mine are CH4D and seem to be just fine. Have also had this brand in .375 H&H flanged, 450 Rigby and have had no problems. I would probably gotten the Reddings for my 404 but was unaware of their availability. Others have had problems with CH dies but not me...maybe I've been lucky! Oh yeah, forgot to mention the 500 NE dies..they work just fine, too!

Good hunting,

I have Redding, check w/ RCBS, but I understand from them, they no longer do custom dies. Redding are very good quality though.

I have had some terrible experiences with CH4 dies in both 404 and 470, so I don't use them anymore...

I called Redding and the lady told me they didn't make 404 dies!! Yet others have them..Darn....I really like Redding dies

But the RCBS have served me well as usual..I have used RCBS for centuries with perfect results! beer

The 10.75x68 seating die I got from CH4D would not crimp the case mouth. I sent it back for a replacement, the replacement is no better. Guess I need a Lee crimper?
