Roman BGH http://ohrana.ru/weapon/valve/36666/It is some kind of combat shotgun for special purposes with special cartridges (gas, grenade, non-lethal, anti-material etc.). Not for hunting

Not for civilians.
P.S. as it turned out there was a hunting version of this shotgun called TOZ-123. They dont make it nowadays.

GrandpasezRMC still has some of the brass cases
we had made for this particular 4bore,
They are a short 4bore case 3" long
and the .938" bore.Ed

GrandpasezIf I had one I'd make a 8ga out of it.
For as the 4bore barrel is really thin
compared to my 4bore falling block barrel, as well as the bore
is .062" smaller than our 1 inch size ones.
And the action won't feed 4 inch 4bore cases easy. as its
cases are 3 inch. But it has 4 locking lugs so it will
handle the highest pressures that 8ga plastic case can
handle, which is like 22,000 psi with slow powders.....
THere is room in the action to put in heavy 8 bore barrel and no
worries about splitting barrel. And BPI and others have huge supply
of the strong 3.3" plastic cases and slug wads.
Get a 900 gr slug to 2400 in plastic case.Ed

jeffeossoexcept its a shotgun only, and more or less illegal to hunt migratory fowl with ...
would be hell on wheels for buckshot, though...
its a 4 bore SHOTTY not a rifle.. i'd likely have one, if reasonable

GrandpasezMake fair gun foe buckshot, but not real heavy
magnum loads as the barrel is thin.'
Which is why I said maybe use it for 8ga smooth
real heavy barrel as the
frame won't take a real heavy 4 ga barrel'
And you can get 8ga wadcups with their own seals
that take a heavy 10ga slug and shot.
The gun as originally built, was for cases loaded with
rubber balls, so barrel was built for
a relatively light payload. The importer brought in
a few dozen guns and sold them years ago, but couldn't
get ammo imported as most of it was not hunting ammo.
If you can find the 4bore Gevelot plastic or paper
cases from France they will work to reload, you just have
to cut them off, as the ones I saw pictures of
were about 3.75".. Ed
