In my travels last week I came across a kodiak double rifle. I found the price to hard to refuse and it became mine last night. I was very surprised on how nice it is. Its not an old British or even a popular caliber. But I different rifle for DG and this should fit the bill for most North American game and will do nicely for plainsgame if I get back. Gonna shoot it some tonight and get some better loads for this weekend. Ill let you all know how she shoots.

Jeff
Its the 45/70 I like 45/70 I took a few nice animals with a 45/70 sharps in RSA. My sharps could only shoot the 405gr govt loads. I believe this one can shoot a least the 300gr hot loads.
I might look into a rebore some day but for now the only DG I could see in its future is a cat spotted or a mountain lion. But with the boys headed for school I got all kinds of time before that happens.
