Thanks for the link. Looks like someone totally reworked an A-Square rifle. The price is a bit high, but still in the reasonable category.

The stock looks like Heym Express nice wood.
I handeled one of art Alpins rifles at IWA 2004 Nrnberg and did not like the feel of the bolt, It felt too light and cheep not like Mauser magnum, Reimer Johansen or Heym.

Mehul,

I used to own an A-Square .450 Ackley. The rifle shown has had extensive rework, at least if it began life as a Hannibal model. The stock is not the A-Square design at all, I can't tell from the photos if there was additional metal work done or not.

That would be a step forward as it definitely doesn't look like a large 2X4 anymore. I tried to mount one at one of the Reno shows some while back and it felt clubby as hell. No doubt it did spread the recoil out better but I like this new A2 look much better.

From the photo and description that is simply not an A Sq stock but one by Fred Wells

Hmmm. On a Remington action (with a hole in the bolt handle, no less) and a muzzle brake. I don't think so.

I still prefer the old A-Sq big stocks for big
kickers. The ones I have for my blasters, I set up with
a similiar design, as much as possible.Ed.

Rem. made 1917 action. Not made by a-square. Just chambered for the .500.

The rifle was RESTOCKED by Wells! The previous owner was smart enough to GET RID of the useless 2X6 club!

Art Alphins stock design is the worlds biggest joke IMO..a stump of sorts...but it do suck up the recoil, but so would a bucket of lead and the bucket of lead would be a lot prettier...

So your saying a bucket of lead looks better than this. I don't know your taste but, this is a good looking stock to me.

Someone on this board with a better mastery of the English language referred to them as a "$40 P14 inletted into a railroad tie" I haven't seen anythin that convinced me that he was incorrect.

That is a correct description. And I love em for my blasters,
got two for 40 bucks once, and have the rail ties so
to speak.Got a mill here on the farm, so I can cut my own when I get the right wood..I can't pay A-SQ prices, but for big and hairy it is the
best, and personally building as described($20 actions and rail ties) makes it painless. And I don't fault anyone for buying custom guns,
as that is a sign that you as a gunowner have gained a little in life.Ed.

I sure like my A-square rifles they have been a piece of equipment I am proud of and enjoy shooting. I think your rifle looks good as well. What caliber?

Ill have to get back with you on the wood and the scope mount. Its not my gun. It is chambered in the 400DPM. The wood is really pretty though. Looks nothing like a railroad tie or a bucket of lead to me.
