How is the .375 Ruger doing? Do we see them on the shelves of shops and are they selling? The 375 H&H Safari that Ruger makes is quite a heavy rifle for the caliber I think, whereas that 375 Ruger comes dressed in a much lighter package that should handle well. Hornady teamed up with Ruger and that was a good thing eventhough the initial release of the bullets were trailing a bit behind. Pairing it off with their new line of DGX & DGS bullets should satisfy all DG hunters. Meet the .375 Ruger ... http://www.rifleshootermag.com...ion/375ruger_061207/ It has been a while since it has been launched, and it would be interesting now to hear some views, especially from those that have used them. Probably a half dozen threads on this dead horse already ... maybe change your post to something like "who's using/used a .375 Ruger in Africa ..?"

Mac, What would you say is the reason for it being a dead horse? Its case design was touted as a great improvement at the time of its launch. Perhaps the recession or the head-start of the .375 H&H and its reputation in Africa? Warrior

No! You misunderstood my post Chris. I meant the topic is a horse beat to death not the cartridge. Personally, I think some extra-North American experience would be useful here. I like the Rugers and would like to hear from guys who've used them in your neck-o-the woods.

I may be under correction, but I do not know of anyone in SA that bought a .375 Ruger. Imports of rifles and ammo dwindled drastically over the last 5 years. More than 400 gunshops closed during this period due to the new Arms Bill. And we have now entered the phase of court cases with the SA Police, as they cannot administer the monster that they created and the system is busy to collapse. Warrior
