I have posted in the gunsmith section but have not got much responce yet. So i though i may try here also since this will be for a big bore. I have decided to go with the .375 H&H. I am looking for a good gunsmith with experence who can help me build a .375 H&H on my Winchester model 70 pre 64. I need the action rebarreled and i think i will need cross pins put in the stock for support, this rifle has a custom stock that has carvings and i dont want it to crack under recoil. I have no idea what the caliber of the rifle is. I purchased it cheap at a gun show as a doner action. It is a .270 bore and wears the original .270 win barrel, but after theat it has been stamped "Magnum" and has a gunsmiths name under that. The chamber is for a belted magnum and the bolt has been jeweled and opened up for a magnum bolt face. I guess this is either a wildcat or a weatherby. any input and contact info would be helpful thanks RINO | ||
