I also own Ruger No 1,458Lott, Stainless Steel, laminated stock and can vouch for the "kick" as well, but have no knowledge of the rifle you mention. However, the No.1 for a big bore single shot rifle is an excellent value for the dollars invested. Brute strong and a bit on the heavy side, but sure would not want it any lighter. Have mercury recoil reducer, good pad and leather lace up pad to boot.

Well, based on the results of the intoaccount for now is winning the Ceska gun lock, but the post was published on very good terms refer to the Ruger No. 1 rifle. Interesting.

Where might one find a photo of the CZ single shot 458Lott?? Are they readilly available?? Perhaps I pulled up the wrong site, but could not see on on CZ's site??

I don´t know If there is a Ceska single shot, but I can see that this rifle is prefer versus Ruger nº1.

Nah CZ ,Have two of them and I sold the No.1's.

According to the survey results (at least so far), the members of this forum prefer the bolt action rifles Cz, compared with a single shot Ruger. I will appreciate the participation and I am happy for that.

Anybody that can shoot a No 1 in 458Lott is definitely a better man than me. I thought I was pretty impervious to recoil until I shot one of them. It's a good thing I was standing up, as from a bench I would probably have been permanently traumatized.

Wow, although I do not I understand your post, I understand that shoot the 458 Lott in Ruger No. 1 rifle is quite hard. Not it?.

Another vote for the CZ in .458 lott absorbs recoil very well in my opinion.

I misunderstood about the rifles you were asking for comparison purposes. Apparently you are wanting to know preference between CZ bolt guns and Ruger No. 1's in caliber 458Lott?? If that be the case, my comments about the No.1 being severe in recoil is still the case and would have to think the CZ would give less percieved recoil than the NO. 1 Have a Ruger RSM in 458Lott and it is one fine rifle and does not "kick" as much as the No. 1 even though they are both in the same weight range, some 11 lbs. Personally I think the stock design on the bolt gun, be it CZ or RSM helps to reduce the felt recoil?? There is a noticable difference between the two. As for shooting style/method, I am not one to use a bench but just to get on paper and then my shooting is off hand and for these size calibers do most of it between a measured 50-75yds. Find little difference in point of impact at 100 yards and can see the holes in target at 75 easier. I also practice w/ loads not at maximum, use 405Rem.jacketed bulk bullets or Gas Checked Lead of 435gr. Off hand is not that punishing w/ mild loads and shoot the full house 500gr loads sparingly due to cost and increased recoil issues. Sorry I misunderstood on your question. As for preference, I am a big fan of Rugers and feel whatever model selected is of high value for the dollars invested. Can you readily purchase Rugers in "Sunny Spain??"

I prefer the sleek, handsome lines of the Ruger No.1 along with the strength of the Ruger action with no added gunsmithing needed.

Hello, this is undoubted, I believe that the action of the Ruger is very robust and durable, but we should not forget that of the Ceska is a little modified Mauser action that has also given very good results. I the only thing I have heard is that as something negative to point out the Ceska rifle, break the stock to shoot these powerful cartridges.

Buy the Ruger #1 in 9.3x74R for plinking.

The CZ 458 Lott for shooting anything you wish.

There should be not problems, if it is glass bedded and cross bolts are used. A second recoil lug on the barrel is also a good idea.

I wish could, but my purchasing power doesn't for both jejeej. I have a Remington 700 in calibre 338 WM, a Ceska in 375 H & H Magnum and I think that rifles battery would be very full with a 458 Lott jejeje.

Sorry about your financial constraints - appears though, there's not many "plinking" rifles in your battery but I guess a down-loaded 338 Win Mag qualifies....

Certainly do not touch the rifle buy for nothing. My financial capacity is really very limited, but my hobby weapons and very large, hunting is why I am saving euro in euro (in US dollar to dollar jejeje) to buy this rifle. Thanks to the two for your replies.
