Does the barrel lug on a 550 (458 Win. Mag.) need to be bedded to the stock. What about glassing around the receiver lug. Just wondering if some of you guys had improved accuracy that way. Suggestions??Thanks in advance.

Yes and Yes. You will also want to make sure that there is 0.03" clearance between the tang and the stock. I would recommend that you bed the entire length of the action up to and including the barrel lug. Use either a steel, aluminum, or carbon fiber reinforced resin for bedding compound.
