Okay, Guys, Does being able to feed right side up, 90 degrees left/right AND upside count for a 500 jeffe to be able to feed properly? Then I let my wife and son load and do it, as well1!! I get NEARLY 4 down... but I get 3 down, and can easily load the forth in the pipe... I need LESS than 3/32 or 1/16 to get the forth one down... But I am so damn happy about it, I'll leave it for right now. Many Thanks to Roger R. and Jim from PME, for pictures of Roger's A2 box, and Jim's excellent guidance in creating the properly sized box. Mine's CLOSE to the correct size.. width 1.170 rear, and 1.135 front, rails STRONLY hogged out and new internal feeding rails machined out. I just started with a riveted 30-06 box, cut off the rivets, spaced and soldered the box, moved the rear of the box back 3/8 or so, for a max OAL of 3.55. I am more than certain, if you would be willing, you could mill back the trigger group, and get another tenth. Oh, yeah, and milled off the guides onto of the box. another day, I'll work on the 4th one down. 2260 with 535s, good groups, and feeding.. Danging, what a lot of work jeffe [ 02-20-2003, 01:28: Message edited by: jeffeosso ]

Jeff, Congrats! Now I have some dimensions to compare to my calculations. What type of follower did you use? I need to add a second recoil lug and a mess of epoxy to the stock before I do anymore shooting with my 500. [ 02-20-2003, 04:07: Message edited by: Paul H ]

I suppose one could hang by his knees and shoot buffalo and that would require one to feed upside down, but so far I have not tried that one... A simple way to get that last cartridge down is to make another thicker floor plate that is cut out inside for the need depth. It only makes the floor plate a little thicker but it looks very nice indeed...
