Gentlemen,

As many of you know, our A-Square 577 T.Rex has been flying out of shooters hands for a number of years, and apart from the front sight falling off every now and then, no harm has come to it.

Well, Walter decided the rifle needed a well deserved clean - just after one of his Chilian friends experienced the joys of shooting the 577 T.Rex.

He somehow managed to knock it off the bench, cracking the stock just behind the tang.

When we took the action off, we also found that the stock has broken behind the recoil lug.

Good thing my friend Roy Vincent was here - he was supposed to be on a well deserved holiday, but we put him to work.

He drilled three holes in the stock, blew some glue into the cracks, and put 3 brass screws in.

He also put one from the bottom of the pistol grip, just in case Walter decides to try to break it again.

Two more brass screws were put behind the recoil lug, as you can see from this photo.

Walter was so thrilled by Roy's help, he offerred us all a BBQ.

As you can see, he greeted us all with his favorite "two finger" salute as we arrived.

Everyone should have a Walterhog around to blame things on.

Walter was just doing some stress testing of the stock to uncover the hidden cracks that needed repair so the next hapless victim would not get splinters.

Walter is like the ground crew for "Flying Rifle Airlines." Not everyone can be pilot or air traffic controller.

Hope the Flying Rifle flies some more.

Cheers!

I've watched some of the T-rex videos and just love them. I'd love to touch one off, just to see what it's really like.

Interesting.........I think this is a time and place to consider buying brand new. Sometimes I ask patients, "You did what?"

Ah, c'mon, Doc, you live in Wyoming. What is there left that can possibly surprise you? Perhaps you should have some of your patients go to www.darwinawards.com After all, as I tell my sixth graders, "No dumb,no Darwin!"
