Just received pictures of my .458 Lott from Tim Howsman of Double T Gunshop in Haslett, Texas. She is almost ready for delivery! This will be a great carry rifle. Winchester classic 70 action, Lilja barrel, NECG sights and barrel band swivel and McMillan Safari stock with Sunny Hill bottom metal. She has a decelarator pad, mercury recoil reducer and an easily removed muzzle brake. She's a beaut...and she should be hell on big critters. Looks like a very serious tool. All the functional goodies seem to be there with no fluff -- congratulations. ------------------------------- Some Pictures from Namibia Some Pictures from Zimbabwe An Elephant Story

Should be a good THUMPER! I like that stock for using iron sights. I assume this will get used for elephants and buff at close range. With all those high quality parts, it should be a good shooter. How much will it weigh? Barrel length? Will you be loading 500 grain bullets to 2,150 fps (low pressure) or hot rodding to 2,300+ fps? Can't wait to see photos and hear stories of the field results. Shumba, Built her to weigh 10.5 pounds with a 22" barrel. I'll start shooting Hornady ammo and work on a load in time. No need in loosening any fillings in my teeth or detaching a retina or two! You hit the nail on the head as far as what I will use her for. Close up work on the big nasties. And I won't have to worry about getting her scratched up in the cruiser or the jess. Love it all! Its a beaut! Except the brake that is...but fortunately that can be removed. Best of luck with her! Should be a really pussy cat with the brake on, and at 10.5lbs still very shootable without. Cheers, Canuck

Hi Bawanamrm That's a beautiful working rifle. Make sure you put and leave the hood on that front sight. I banged my front sight leaning the rifle up against a wall and it was enough to break the fiber optic piece leaving me without a front sight. Take good care, Dave

470 Mbogo, Good advice on the hood, thanks. Just got through e-mailing Tim to add one of the skeletonized NECG hoods on her! I've shot my buddys 458 Win Mag shooting 500gr bullets at 2200 fps and recoil wasn't bad at all.
