I just checked my other rifle which has a stock which is every bit as straight as the CZ American. Being the small guy that I am I can even crouch *below* the iron sights, having to lift up my head slightly to get sight alignment. I guess if you are thick-necked, heavy-cheeked, just plain large, etc (no offense to anybody intended) you may have problem getting down low enough. My problem would sooner be...will I have to lift my cheek away from the stock very much when looking through the scope? I could see myself putting on one of those cheek pads, rather then worrying about not getting behind the iron sights....I guess what I'm saying is....try to find both anywhere and try them out (easier said than done, I'm sure). It is a personal physique thing. I have no trouble with open sights and the CZ American stock. Also the straight stock has significantly less recoil. You're doomed to try them both and then decide. | |||
