Does anyone have a Rimrock stock mounted on a M70 rifle? Can you post a pic or send a pic to have it posted?

I want to replace the factory stock on my M70 416Rem Safari w/ a rimrock but would like to see the overall shape/profile fitted to the M70.

Thanks,
Gary

I'm guessing that the bottom rifle in both pics must wear the Rimrock. The top stock looks as though it has too little drop to be a Rimrock and may not be the best choice for iron sights.

I'm looking to get the most use out of fixed sights on this rifle but I'd like the option of using a low power scope mounted in the lowest mounts/rings I can get. The Rimrock appears to have enough drop but not too much. Am I off base?

BTW, nice rifle...is it a pre 64 set up for an H&H length cartridge?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,

I initially chose the Rimrock for the same reasons, open sights and scope use.

For me, the height of the comb on the rimrock is very usable for scope/sight use.

unfortunately I couldn't get along with the thich comb and cheekpiece, or the tight pistol grip so I went another way.

If you order a Rimrock, make sure you talk to Jim Jr about the weight you want. Three different pre-64 blanks I've had this last year went 28, 32, and 36 ounces with pads, and were otherwise identical.

yes that is a p64 375. It's getting gun-koted right now and ahlmans is checkering the laminate stock. should be all done in a month or so.
