While not as well known nor popular as most on this board, I have been here for a while and posted semi-regularly. Lately, I haven't posted anything at all in the recent past due to other overwhelming responsibilies (medical and family for the most part). A member here, who is a well known contributor, inventer and hell of a nice guy in every respect, was concerned enough to ask if I was OK - simply because he noticed my absence. What a wonderful community we have here. For the few PIAs that post drivel, infuriate and disgust, there are a myriad of good, honest, caring, intelligent folk and to each of them and to that particular person - Jay, I say "THANK YOU". A single random act of kindness can make the worst of days improve immeasurably. Still on for safari with my dad. We leave for Zimbabwe August 28th and return on September 14th. Cape Buffalo with 600 Overkill and 585 AHR (or Merkel 500 NE - whichever I happen to have in my hands at that moment) and plains game with sundry other toys. Thanks again for everything. This is by far the best Forum. NRA Lifer; DSC Lifer; SCI member; DRSS; AR member since November 9 2003 Don't Save the best for last, the smile for later or the "Thanks" for tomorow

Thanks Rob. Pop and I are getting mighty excited. The AHR 585 was my gift to him for his 70th B'day and this trip is the lifelong dream we have had together since I was a little boy watching Merlin Perkins of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom (poor Jim - LOL). The past few months served as a reminder of the relevance of my signature line below. My dad had one of the medical emergencies with which I dealt. Cant wait to see the world that you and so many others have come to enjoy, love and admire. I am sure we will be awed and thrilled and ultimately fulfilled whether we take game or merely live the life, however briefly. Thanks again, Paul NRA Lifer; DSC Lifer; SCI member; DRSS; AR member since November 9 2003 Don't Save the best for last, the smile for later or the "Thanks" for tomorow

Doctor Paul, You are best of folk too. I hope the "medical" is just business, and not your health related. You and Jim Manion both sent to me, unsolicited, the missing issue from my Jonah Hex comic book collection, and Jay pointed out where I could buy it myself. I now have three where I had none before. The collection of JH is complete, and then some: "Jonah Hex" (second series, current, still in publication monthly), "Hex," "Jonah Hex" (original series), "Weird Western Tales," and "All Star Westerns" all the way back to about 1970. News Flash: Jonah Hex the Movie is coming out about August 2010, starring Josh Brolin as Hex, and Megan Fox in western underwear. BTW, The genesis of Jonah Hex was Steve McQueen's "Wanted Dead or Alive" bounty hunter, Josh Randal, an ex Confederate soldier in the 1958 TV series. "The Outlaw Josie Wales" of the 1976 Clint Eastwood movie, paid homage to Jonah Hex. Good folk all! Good luck with your Pop and the Popgun on cape buffalo safari. He is best of folk too, you come by it naturally. They started shooting "Jonah Hex" in New Orleans in April 2009. Megan Fox is a different kind of good folk. Dig her "western underwear":

Hi Rob, I'm going to bring your Copper Bore Riders along with Macifej's Brass Hammers and plan to get close enough to be able to smell the wittle critter! Biggest problem will be making sure there are not other creatures standing behind my buffalo otherwise I might take my quota with a single shot. Paul- Right on! I actually had a broadside pass through on a Ele with one of Fritz 454's Brass Bullets in a .470NE. Those copper Cup point Bore riders should be just the ticket for a pass through on Buff. Damage aught to be amazing, but expect them to run a little anyway. Mbogo's are tough. You just have to get close in to feel the real adrenaline rush! Nothing else like it! You'll know your alive!-Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!
