I just finished another rifle in the 458 WSM/Noveske. This one weighs 5 lbs 11 ounces. It has a McMillan stock, NECG front sight, XS rear sight, Wyatt box, PAC-NOR 16.25" CM 14"T barrel, Sako Style Extractor, and other little touches. The action is a Remington 660, formally a 6mm Rem. The rifle is an even 35" long, and has a 14" LOP. It really is not that bad to shoot offhand. The bench is another story. photo gallery page 2

for those who like the trendy and the big bore, I was at the range the other day, and saw a gentleman who is a gunsmith in town here with eclectic tastes for sure. He was trying out a 458 on a WSM case with a bolt action that had about an 18 inch barrel. He had ghost ring peep sites to it. Specialized but effective weapon I bet. If anyone is interested in it, his name is John Noveske, out of Grants Pass, OR. I highly recommend John's work. He has done several rifles for me, that were definitely one hole shooters. His web site is ....www.jnrifleworks.com check out his photo gallery and he has some info and pictures of it. cheers and good shooting seafire

Wow, those stubby little semi-spitzer bullets look great! Not sure what I would do with it but i'd bet it would make a sexy Rem model 7. One nice advantage is that with a large bullet like that, you shouldn't have to worry about feeding problems in a CRF style action (like the short mags are rumored to have)
