Who is stealing the ammo? Login/Join

I have recently been to two Cabelas, Hartford Ct and Portland Me. I opened some boxes of ammo to eyeball the bullet designs and many boxes were missing one round! In BOTH stores! I even found a box of 400/450 that had been taken out of the class enclosed display case for a customer. The customer, apparently, stashed the box in the reloading isle and stole one round.

I purchased some shotgun shells and while inline at checkout, I opened the all the boxes. Some SOB's even stole a sabot 12ga shell. I had to go back and swap out that box.

This really ticks me off. Many places stash the rifle ammo on a shelf behind the counter, where you strain to see what is there. Cabelas is already semi-paranoid with a no ammo return policy and escort in/out for any gun trades. I fear the loss of another good thing here.

Who are these jerks: kids? Ctg collectors? Bad apples? All of the above?

My guess is total amateur ctg collectors.
Bad apple dirtbags with no sense of style or distinction.

Who would want a ctg collection that would comprise of 'everything you could get at Cabelas'
Whoo-frickin-pee...

Might even be someone who works there.

Cheers
Tinker

My local store puts the 416 Rigby and the big Weatherby's behind a locked glass case. The told me its the collectors. They tape all ammo boxes because of theft.

Jerks, that's who is doing this!

Similar thing happened at my Gander Mountain last fall. I opened up a box of 130ft TTSX 300 Wby just to check it out.....only the box was actually the cheaper spire points. Some poor shooter could have been screwed so someone else could save 30$

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!
