OK. I don't want to start up another feeding frenzy. But ... Midway has 300 grain Norma Oryx ammo on sale for $43.79. So ... not under $40.00 a box (something like $2.19 a round) and not A Frames ... but still a decent deal if Oryx's will work for you.

I went on CTD late the other night and another warehouse popped up the same price. Between the cor-bon 505 and 458 lott and this I am done (ie broke). I got 380 rounds A frame........But I got a lot of smoking deals that's for sure. 700 rounds of big bore....so far.....Cheap

Between you and Beretta682E you have cornered the market. I only hope that your shoulders and/or recoil pads and/or barrels hold-up long enough for you guys to enjoy all that ammo!

LOL I agree. I want to shoot my big guns and not worry about where to get ammo and how much it costs. I see the 2 .375's I have getting used a lot now.

I used to think that owning 505's, 500's, 458's, 416's, 404's and 375's was 'God's Way of Telling You That You Had Too Much Money,' but after the Corbon/CTD/SWVA deals ... Maybe not?

LOL if I told you how much I paid for my used never fired CZ custom .505 you would choke and believe that being in the right place at the right time like the ammo deal will allow semi-average joes like me to have some really cool stuff and shoot it. Hell the .505 dies are $3-400. I can buy a hundred loaded for that price almost. Now if only I can find a .500-.577 NE double like I found my .505..................................

I know what you mean about "used" big bores. I have an opportunity to pick up a used CZ 416 Rigby with about 30 - 40 down the pipe, for next to nothing. But ... it is RH. I am a lefty. I can certainly shoot RH rifles ... have done it for years. However, all my bolt rifles are now LH. It is a nice luxury. If I can find a LH stock for a RH CZ magnum action, I will jump on the .416 ... "Like A Fly On ...."

I'm sure somebody makes one.....

My basis for my Lott was a used CZ .458 25" humpy plane jane I found used cheap. The .458 WM looked too small for action so I made it a Lott, barrel looked too long cut it to 22" got a straight comb synthetic and had AHR do some magic and Voile! Got a heck of a nice rifle. But no where near the deal I got on my Lott. I think the ammo prices are what make these guns sell so cheap. Got to have a dedicated enthusiast/hunter to stick with those guns that hardly ever get used for their intended purpose. But I am planning a hunt around my .505 and .458 Wink

I've looked for LH stocks for RH CZ magnums, but I haven't found any. That's a good thought about AHR. I think I will give Wayne a call on Monday and see if he can find a LH stock for a RH action. If so, I'll get the Rigby and just send it to him and have him work his magic.

We have an Africa trip planned next year. What started out as a PG hunt has "morphed" to include a buff. While I was originally planning on taking my 9.3 x 62, but now I think I'll take just my .375 H&H ... unless the Rigby "falls into my lap" ... in which case I'll probably have to work up some light loads for the PG and take that instead.

What will you hunt with the .505 and .458? Elephants?

I ended up with the last 4 boxes that they had.

Well that is what they told me anyway.

Ordered a 375 barrel for my 338 that I was going to rebarrel (m700 with a messed with .338 barrel).

Life is good.

Rigby would be awesome. .375 would work fine. I know Dave Van Horn in Gilbert AZ can make a nice stock, he's known for that. I am sure Wayne can sort it out. Should not be too difficult.

As for the .458 and .505-Elephant and buffalo.

Planned on stopping at the Lott but the .505 literally fell into my lap. Which is a good thing. My only regret was they had a matching .300 H+H from custom shop for same price I should have bought at same time. When I went back it was gone. I am kicking my self in the ass for that blunder

OK. Here is another .375 H&H ammo deal: CTD has Colorado Buck 300 grain Nosler Accubonds for $41.79 a box ... a little over $2.00 a round.

See: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-771

I wasn't familiar with this brand (doesn't he have a TV show?) so I found this review:
