I have a really accurate load (and quite fast) worked up in my .375 H&H using RL 15 and 300 grain TSX but I have a quantity of 300 grain partitions and was thinking of substituting them for my TSX's.
Anybody shooting RL 15 and 300 Partitions?
My current load is 71 grains of RL 15 with the 300 TSX's very accurate in my Win M70 Classic stainless. I have chronied this load but am reluctant to post figures as some people have already told me I'm full of it.

I took a Model 70 in .375 to Zim on my first safari. I had picture perfect performance from my load using 300 grain Noslers. I too loaded RL 15 and my load chronoed at 2540 fps. and producing 7/8 inch groups at 100 yds. Hope this helps.

You don't mention what you are hunting. I have used the 300g NP and, while they killed well, I found them too soft for buffalo.

For plains game they would be great.

Magnum Hunter what if I may ask is your load that you are shooting?

JBrown I'm probably just hunting Elk and maybe Moose, yeah I know overkill but I dream of hunting Africa and I work the loads up for it and may actually go someday. I'm hoping that I can shoot the Nosler and TSX using same load and hope to shoot to the same point of impact, would be nice if it works.

Okay I'll let it out my 300 grain TSX load averages 2694 fps, I've chronied it a hundred times and the average is always just under or just over 2700, I'm thinking this will impact with some authority.

Used 300g Nosler Partitions in a .375 H&H on my last Plains Game trip to RSA on all my animals. Load was 72g RL-15 for a consistant 2560 fps. Not impressed with their perfomance on pigs, wildebeast, gemsbok. Accuracy was not great either. Trying out Woodleigh's for the trip this June. Buddy will use Sierra #3000 300g BT and my son will stick with the Noslers. We will see what the performance diff will be. I am betting the Woodleighs will end up on top.

I am pretty sure it was 72 grains. I will check later to make sure.

WOW ... I've wondered about my .375 H&H M70 SS Classic. A load of 68.0 gr RL-15 gives me 2604 fps with the 300 gr Barnes X. Quite accurate.

Drops piggies like a rock. Did fine on Hartebeast in Tanzania in 2006.

The Partitions will open up faster and perhaps penetrate less ... but that won't matter much on anything short of Buf.

Overkill my eye! The 375 is perfect for game in the 600-2,000 pound range.

As far as your dream... I purchased a 375 a little over a decade ago. At the time I felt that I had no use for it, and no business buying it. Africa was nothing more than a distant fantasy.

Since then I have made three hunts in Africa with this rifle. I have used that rifle for a bunch of plains game along with buffalo, lion and an Elephant.

Well I shot a bunch of 300 grain Partitions today loaded with 71 grains of Reloader 15, Federal brass and CCI primers they averaged 2602 fps out of my rifle. Fairly accurate but not as tight as the same load with 300 grain Barnes TSX, although they were very acceptable. Funny thing was the Noslers printed about 2 to 2.5" higher than the TSX's which will still work for an interchangeable load for me.
Thanks everybody
