Those of you who have the new Ruger 375 are you having to change out the front site? My rifle is shooting 3 inches low at 35 yds with 300 grain bullets. It looks as though its a NECG front post, does anyone know if that's the case.

The sights on my Alaskan were very well regulated from the factory and shoot just a little high at 50 yards with the 300 and 270 grain loads.

My 375 Alaskan shot 4-5 " low @ 50 yrds with the 300 gr factory solids and 7" low with the factory 270 gr .......
I bought a 1/2x1/2 x12" bar stock and cut , filed and ground a new express rear .....drifted it into the dovetail and put a little half bead size notch in the center ....Just need to go sight it in ..
I estimate , or guesstimate this new rear is 3 beads higher than the factory ...I have been waiting to reload some 250 gr TSX for it as that is the bullet weight it will mostly shoot ....Maybe I should settle on the 270 gr ammo and go sight in ...

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Take a six penny nail and drive it between the barrel and the tip of the forend. Let us know if that works. Smiler

Or if there is a screwed down barrel recoil lug, you could try to shim it or loosen the screw and see if that helps.

Welcome to the Ruger rifle family. My self and a couple others are having the exact issues with our .458 Lott RSM rifles. Except our rifles are shooting even lower at 50 yards.
I filed .030 off of the lowest sight I could get and it brought my 50 yard groups up from 8 inches low to 4 inches low. I have since removed another .030 inches to try it again.

Good luck! And you might want to give will's advice a pass Wink Although I am sure he would get a great laugh if you admitted to trying it.

sorry I don't know as I don't buy Rugers.....but their service department is very good.....call them and explain the situation and they'll help you out! Most likely answer the question or send a replacement sight free!

If however it is a post sight, I'd file it to suit!

I haven't checked my irons yet....just slapped a scope on 'er and went hunting.

I believe that others have posted that their open sights were bang on at 100 yds with 270gr bullets.

Guys,
The sight is an ERA sight and NECG is the one supplying Ruger the sights. I talked with Mark at NECG and he has a batch of .300 sites on the way, the front post on factory rifles is .330

Mark said that Ruger has recieved some complaints already IT IS AN ISSUE! The only reason it probably hasn't surfaced earlier is that a lot of guys just put a scope on the rifle and call it good.
