I have just placed a deposit on a 602 rifle for the .585 I want to build and will save $400 over buying a new cz550. The only thing I do not like is the straight trigger, I wish not to replce the whole mechanism but just want a normal curved trigger is this a possibility??

Thanks in advance.

Hi PC,

I had the same problem with my CZ550Magnum. The gunsmith has cutted the old trigger off, where it comes out into the trigger guard, welded a piece of metal on there and made a trigger now to my specs. The triggermechanism is still the old one, but the rest is now "customized".

It is as Alf relates, the BRNO 602 came with two triggers. Since I did not want the set trigger (John Tailor forbade it )I ordered my rifle with the standard (non-set) trigger.

The rifle came with Alf's little green bag, and IIRC had a second curved trigger in it.

I should still have this trigger.

I hunted with my 602 in Namibia in '95, and vowed that I would fix the safety or sell the rifle (it had the "backwards" safety: back to fire, forward to safe). I replaced it with a M70 style bolt tail piece and safety.

Hi,

yes for that reason and because I hate really hate set triggers, my gunsmith disabled the set-trigger function on my CZ 550. It has now a very crispy standard trigger with 1 1/2 lbs trigger weight (I hope, that is the right word for it.)

The safety of the CZ550 works the right way now, but I have also replaced the safety with a M70 style safety (because all my Mausers have it). The safety of the CZ 550 is only a trigger-safety, it does not cock the firing pin.

Glad to know that it can be changed thanks everyone, I do not think I could live with that straight one, it is not how a rifle should look.

PC, I had my smith change out the set trigger abortion on a 601 I used to have. He used some generic curved trigger and it was much better--in looks as well as function.

PC,

I took a look in my parts collection, and I still have the little green bag and the second curved trigger in there.

If you need it, just yell...jim dodd
