For practice /deer loads, how low can you safely go with loading the 416? Reloading manuals say in the low 90's. However the remington load is in the 70's for a max with at least some powders. Anybody tried it. Thanks "D"

Just fill it up with a slow powder: H-1000/870/5010, RL-22/25, IMR-7828, XMR-8700. Use XMR-5744 for cast bullets. Around 40 grains.

OK, I've been wondering this and it looks like a good time to ask.

Does XMR5744 have to be used with cast bullets only? Would this powder not work with conventional jacketed bullets? Would the friction in the bore create excessive pressure spikes with jacketed bullets?

Just wondering, Bill
