Anyone have experience with Sauer rifles, especially the 202 takedown?

Accuracy, durability, dependability?

I won one cal 300 wheaterby. Is a wonderful gun and shoot well. I made only few shots so I dont know how durable but the action seems very strong. Only is quite heavy but a really luxury gun.

Dogcat,

I have had a 202 takedown for a few years now. Two barrels. One in 300 Win Mag and the other in 375 H & H. I have two scopes and EAW mounts. I change scopes when I change barrels. I have the "Elegance" model and I find it a beautiful rifle. As mentioned by Mario it is a touch heavy. I have tested by changing barrels and scopes and it holds accuracy with each change. Barrel change is simple and takes but a few seconds. No tools required. The safety is the among the best I have seen and is very silent. I am not over keen on the detachable magazine but that is just my personal preference. My rifle is very well made with a smooth as silk action. It is a nice rifle to use in the field. A very well made rifle indeed. Just my opinion.

Guys,
Mario, that's about the only way I could get my hands on a take-down model-congrats!

How is the accuracy on the 202s?
I like 30-06 and I see them available quite often.

Never heard about the safety. Glad to hear that as I've found the winchester safeties clumsy and hard to keep quiet.

Have you had a chance to compare the 202 to the 200? Are they equal?

That's a spectacular photo! That looks like a dream hunt to me. The location is beautiful. Where is it?

Thanks for posting.
