I've been working with these bullets for the past month and have been very satisfied with the results. The load I have settled on is 75 Gr. Reloader 15 giving me 2,850 fps. and excellent accuracy. I mainly hunt hogs and deer and use this rifle almost exclusively for these animals. I normally shoot Hornady 300 gr. RN bullets at 2,650 and have been very satified. However, once a year I do try to go elk or bear hunting. This year I was planning a bear hunt and in the area I hunt 300 yrds. in the normal distance for a shot. This is where the 260 BT come in. Looked like the perfect bullet for the job and may still be. I just like penetration and I don't know that these bullets are up to the task. With that said, I shot a 250 lb. sow hog last evening at 60 yards. As with lung/heart shot hogs she ran. I had a good blood trail for about 100 yrds and found the hog. The bullet had entered behind the left shoulder and did not exit! I was suprised. While skinning the hog I found the jacket of the bullet embedded just under the skin in front of the diaphram. The remaining bullet/jacket weighed 117.1 grains. Did the bullet fail? Maybe, maybe not. I had a good blood trail and found the hog with no problem. So no in that since. But yes in the fact that it seperated from the jacket and did not provide an exit wound. Just thought I would let you guys know how this bullet performed in this situation.

2850 fps is pretty fast. How long is your barrel? I'm not 100% sure, but I think the max in the Nolser#4 is 72-73 grs, for a MUCH shorter Partition. Most shooters will run this bullet at +/- 2700 fps. At 100 yards, it has slowed to 2500 fps. This could slow expansion some. The 260's I tested reatined 89% of their weight, and held together quite well, this was in pine logs @ 2500-2600 fps.

My barrel is 24" long. I'm not getting any high pressure signs and excellent accuracy. I've had more than one bullet fail to penetrate a hog. They are very tough animals. The only thing that concerns me is the bullet seperating from the core. This suprised me because this bullet was suppose to be adequate for elk. If I've gota shoot 2600 fps to keep them together then I may try something different for my bear hunt.

I don't care for the looks of those, except perhaps for use as a deer/caribou bullet.

What load do you use for your 250 gr. Swifts? I may go that route or I may try 260 gr. Partitions.

I have shot everything from duiker to Eland with the 260 gr. partition in my 375's and it works perfect 99% of the time...I prefer the 300 gr. for Eland and up...I have a handfull of nice picture bood expanded bullets from some of the larger game.

FWIW, as I've reported elsewhere in these forums, my hunting partner used the 260-grain Partitions in his .375 H&H at 2600 fps on a large eland last month. At a range of about 40 yards, he put one round into each shoulder, hitting the upper leg bone both times. The bullets broke the bones but apparently disintegrated, as we couldn't find them on butchering. Neither bullet made it out of the shoulder.
