George, I was under the impression that Savage offered the chambering in their Safari grade rifle, but did not actually produce any. Do you know if they in fact did produce some 425 Express rifles? With regard to the original posted question. It should be a simple rebarrel job. Scott | ||

As far as I know, only Savage chambered factory rifles in this round, and only for a brief period. It sounds like a fun round, providing .404J ballistics in more available brass. Have fun, and let us know how your project works out! George | |||

Thanks for the replys. I have been interested in the .425 Express ever since my cousin bought one in the mid 1990's. I haven't been able to find one in the Savage 116 like he has. This is why I've been thinking about making one of my own. I have a Model 70 in .300 Win Mag that is begging to be converted. Thanks again. | |||
