Anyone tried these on larger plains game or even big NA game? I buy them for practice loads in my Taylor and questioned their toughness. I ask because I have only ever recovered one Speer bullet that held it's core. Nothing over .338 though.

NBHunter,

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago where the Speer 350 grain 416 Mag Tip was discussed.

This is the thread.

These Mag-Tips are tough. 90% retention and picture-perfect expansion when shot through pine logs. I'm going to use them this fall for moose in my 416 Rem. The Mag-Tip is of slightly beefier construction, heavier jackets compared to standard Hot Cor bullets.
