Is it possible to neck down a .577 Tyrannosaur ocr .600 OK to caliber .30? or .338?? What velocitys would be possible? The .30-378 Wby take around 120 grains of powder. But the .577 T-rex take near 200 grains! ???

Of course it's possible! I like the idea actually of a .600/585-3 inch or a .600/.550 or even a .600/.50 Plinker. At some point the cartridge becomes so overbore that it's useless for anything other than a plasma torch. I would not want to repeat the .338/.375WBY fiasclo.-Rob

Overkill, The velocity limit has been tested repeatedly, and somewhere in the range of 3200 to 3500 fps seems to be the practical limit without destroying barrels every couple of hundred shots (I know that the 17 rem and 220 swift can beat these numbers). With sabots, you can get 5000 fps, but it is a tricky proposition to get accuracy. Then there is the issue of recoil. While the wildcat you are thinking of is possible, it may not be practical for any kind of hunting, and it may wear out barrels faster than you can sight the rifle in.
