I just got back from the range. My goal today was to shoot a good group off the bench with my two ruger lotts and a CZ 458Wm.I had long given up on the CZ.Once having shot very well it could no longer get on target, shooting two or more feet too low.I thought the rifling had eroded and would no longer stableize the bullets.I gave all three rifles a good cleaning using a new short stroke method and had them ready.I used acraglass extend the fixed rear sight of the CZ because this was the only way I could get the rifle to get on target.I fired at least three rds before the bore coated with molly and eliminate the flyers.I also used acraglass on one of my Rugers to glue the 100yd rear sight onto the fixed one to get on target.Everything worked and to my relief all rifles grouped well enough.I went on to shoot my old Ruger offhand at 100yds and got most bullets within a black circle.I then did a couple of strings of rapid fire at 50 yds,the first one shooting low and left and the second hitting center.Unfortunately I only got the first string on video.50yds 458 lott videoCZ rear sight acraglass extensionCZ 100yd group

What exactly was the target in the video?. It looks like all the shots hit near the bottom of the right hand support leg for the 50 yd target. All the snow was blown away by the four shots, which could be seen striking there. The snow was completely gone after the shot string.

Very good shooting! I timed your four shots on target number 2: it took you just 5 seconds! Congratulations!!

Thanks Hans.I will try to get out and shoot again today but this time with my CZ 458wm.I filed the front sight down a bit and adjusted the windage to hit bullseye.I will load some RN bullets becuase that is all it feeds. The only problem is that I broke the bead on the front sight and what is left is not large enough to easily see. Those where full power lott loads on the vid with 500gr a-frames.After shooting the string,it felt a bit like I recieved a boxing punches combination, especially since I had shot a few at 100yds just beforehand..

I went to the range again today and had to wait two hours before I got a chance to shoot offhand. When it came time to shoot I was freezing cold and had a hard time keeping the rifle steady and my frozen fingers had a difficult time with the tigger.I was using the CZ 458WM after filing down the rear sight. One target shows the shots at 100yds with the two shots furthest left being sighters fired from the bench. The three rounds on top are offhand misses. The black circle target was shot at 50yds and there you see three in the center and a single miss on top.I also tried to get one of my ruger lotts back on paper using the last sight-the 200yd leaf but it still shot too low. When I got back from the range,I filed down the front sight to make another attempt next time.100yd target CZ 458WM50yd target CZ458WMRuger front sight filed down
