I want to order a F990 pad online for my .458Lott, I know it's ugly but from what I've heard it is the most effective pad, and this rifle is not for show.
What size will I need to order it, medium or large? I know that if it is too big you end up grinding into the core material to get it to fit.
Also, if anyone can tell me where I can get this pad cheaper than $63.98 on the Pachmayr/Lyman website it would be appreciated.

If you can order from Midway USA they sell it for $56.99 http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=193252 I've seen it used on a rifle only once. A fella brought his mom's custom five pound 308 boltgun to rifle school. The pad is so squishy it has a little peg you insert when you put the rifle in the rack to keep from compressing the pad. He came off the line one day massaged his shoulder. "Forget to take out the peg" he said with a sheepish grin. Me, I'd worry about bottoming out this pad on a Lott. Better to look at a Kick Eez, Limbsaver, or Decelerator - one inch or thicker. Midway has 11 pages of "grind to fit" pads, all of them less expensive than the F990. Good hunting!

Actually I have a black Decelerator on my CZ 550. I think it's the 1". I'd love to have a brown (more classic look) decelerator 1 1/2" thick if they make on. I want the thicker pad primarily for length of pull (I have long arms lol). Anyone know if they make one?

Just by one that is close to the dimensions of your stock. My CZ is 1.91 wide and 5.22 long. Midway,Bronells.
