.44 -- that's kind of pathetic when you think about it. I guess it's asking too much that the factory equips the rifle with a stock that is rated to take the punishment. I will be taking it to the range tomorrow morning, if everything goes well, will be taking it on a hog hunt next weekend, and then I'll have it bedded. Would be shame to crack the stock. Thanks for the input, I'll keep you posted.

BMG -- funny you should ask. Mine is apparently one of the early one, as .458 Lott has been stamped right above .458 Win Mag in type that doesn't quite match. I thought originally that someone had converted it, but I inquired and found out that it came from CZ like that. I think they are stamping them .458 Lott now.

So far I've got 70 rounds through my Lott with standard grade stock. Did not have it bedded yet, CZUSA assured me that they do not need bedding and re-enforcement. I was wary at first, so I started with a few 350 gr Hornadys w/ reloader 7. They weren't bad at all. Since then I've been using 500gr Barnes X, Hornady interlock(or bond, I can't recall) and FMJ's. Longest string shot so far was 25 in about a half hour at 50 yard gallon jugs. One other thing, the sling stud has a sling on it. At first I shot with leather gloves on, but the fine checkering hasn't allowed the stud to hit me yet. Have fun with it, don't let it become a chore.
