Dagga Ron, that is one fine .375 H&H. Those CZ actions are jsut so strong and rugged, you have got a great all round rig there. How many of the .375 RUM shells can you fit in the cz mag, can you fit 5 like in the .375 H&H ?? Your stock looks great to. With the extra power of the .375 RUM over the .375 H&H you could shoot the 350 gr .375 cal woodleigh's at the same speed + as the .375 H&H shoots it's 300 gr weight bullets and really have a good step up in power have an excellent SD and still be driving bullets at the speeds for optimum perfromance.

PC, I have a cheap digital camera that is not very good with closeups. The flash lightened and grayed the colors a bit, and the focus was a bit off, so thanks for looking past that. In 375 RUM the CZ 550 Magnum box holds only 4 (with some room to spare) plus one in the chamber, and I have to press on the extractor, a la Mauser 98, to chamber the 5th round, off the top of the box. This action came from Great Northern Guns in Anchorage, Alaska, and had the AHR serial # 50,001 instead of the usual CZ serial numbers. It was purchased as action only. The stock is rather plain Circassian walnut that I got from Boondock sporting Goods, Eagle River, Alaska. It has an ebony forend tip and grip cap, and Pachmayr Decelerator pad. It was stained lightly and has a satin polyurethane finish. It was originally intended for a BRNO ZKK 602, but fits the CZ 550 with some wood removal from the trigger well. It has three hidden cross bolts and one visible cross bolt at the primary recoil lug on the action. The checkering pattern is like that of a Winchester Super Express, done by a fellow in Warsaw, Mo. The barrel is a Winchester Super Express, shortened one inch, with sights soldered on instead of only screwed, and the factory barrel recoil lug reshaped, rechambered to 375 RUM. This is a KISS principle rifle, so I am sticking with 300 grainers around 2700 fps, one soft and one solid, whatever shoots best. Gerard of GSC is actually listing 300 grain FN's now. Since I begged for these, I will have to see about ordering some. That still leaves Barnes X-Bullets unless Gerard decides to do 300 grain HV's too. I guess there are no US distributors, so we are left with ordering across the pond.
