ErikDFrank,
The Fuchs might be an odd gun, but it's still better than Blasers straightpull, bigbore double rifle.
The ultimate in uglyness:

tiggertatePretty damned amazing; are the three bars on top of the open bolt the lockin lugs? I think so as the bolt heads are roughly case diameter and the extractors look like SAKO or M-16 style.
Extraordinary rear-locking double push-feed DGR!
Actually I'm impressed as hell but I wish they hadn't made the bolt handle look like a faucet tap!

Just what everyone needs! A single barreled push feed wasn't bad enough, now a double barreled push feed over weight, ugly piece of junk iron!

Seriously, the thing has potential, but the form, it takes today, is a little over the top. I would far rather see a falling block double rifle, that is better designed that the Hagn (spl). The Hagn is a far better idea than either of these bolt actions. However, all three need some design re-vamps, IMHO!

Lookout, Mac. We're fixing to catch hell from the "you don't appreciate fine craftsmanship" crowd

vapodogErik,
I agree...the Blazer is a bit too dramatic for me and I also agree about the bolthandle. I'm wondering how the PH looks at the guy that shows up with one of these.....
It's really hard to be complimentary toward this one.

They ask that about guys with Bolt Actions and plastic stocks already.

Problem solved!

ErikDThe Blaser was made for Sheik Hamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the finance minister of Abu-Dhabi who has several specially made Blasers.
I'm sure he has someone to both carry his rifle, and someone to take off his diamond pinky rings when necessary!

29 November 2005, 18:03
WinkI have never handled the Blaser double but I did handle a bolt action double at the Rambouillet show in France in March. Too heavy for me to consider luging it around all day, whatever its other faults/merits. Must have been 13 or 14 pounds at least, maybe more.

ErikD, I'm sure you are right, but I would add, on thing he doesn't have is "TASTE"! that thing needs to be made into a floor lamp for a whore house!

Maybe that's where Sheik Hamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan got the idea in the first place?

WoodjackThe only thing missing on the BlazerSxS is the Roman like waterspout coming out of the boltknob/Leopards mouth. If it had that I would definitely buy one

Mark BakerI saw one of those "things" in Vegas at the International gun show about five years ago.
Looked at it and thought--Why! It is just too weird for me. I'm not really fond of magazine rifles anyway, and this just doubles my feelings.
I'm not trying to be snobby or anything, but a break action is the "only double" And sxs being the preferred one.
Long ago I gave up hunting with ugly guns and rifles. If I die while hunting, I sure don't want my grand kids to know that I died carrying some ugly gun.
So sorry for being a snob,
Mark

vigillinusIn a sense the Fuchs represents the triumph of workmanship over design, beautifully made and fitted and completely useless.

MARK H. YOUNGI usually don't bash any product but I know the PH that was on the safari where the prototype Fuch rifle was used. The gun blew up in the PH's hands and handily removed his thumb. This happened in '97 and the last time I knew they had offered the PH a total of $5000 as compensation. How do people sleep at night treating people like that?
