Am in the market for a trimmer to handle .470 NE, .416 Rig and .375. I might also eventually use it for the smaller cals - .270, 8mm etc

Just wondering what you guys are using and what you would suggest I buy. Thanks.

GG,

Not sure about the 470, but I use my Forester for all my cases up to and including 375 HH and 458 Lott.

I use the Forster "Classic 50" for my 470 NE and other big stuff. This will handle all the way up to 50 BMG, so it should do the trick. Good product.

I use the Lyman drill press trimmer mounted in a milling machine with a three axis DRO. Works fine for anything that will fit in the chuck ... and 470 NE just makes it. ;>Wink

I use a small Taig lathe. I really can't see spending the money on a case trimmer, when you can get a much more capable and useful tool for not a whole lot more money. A little 7X10 or 7X12 import lathe would be my choice now, as they have threading capability.
