375 WSM
Last weekend I was at the range testing a 300 Weatherby when a friend of mine came over to show me his new rifle. He had a Win70 Featherweight that originally was a 325WSM. It had been rebored to 375 and chambered for a 375WSM. The barrel was cut to 20" and new front sight mounted. He had taken a set of 378 Weatherby dies and cut them to length to reload fire formed 325WSM brass. He had fire formed a few cases earlier in the week and loaded them back with 260gr Accubonds. It was grouping about 1" at 100yds with initial loads. I have offered to let him use my chronograph to check the velocity. That was a really neat looking rifle and round.

I'd be curious to see what kind of velocity he can get with the 270 grain bullets.

Take a look at Michael458's 375 B&M on his web site. If you like a 375 that is a great cartridge. I build a similar one short chambering with a 375 Rum reamer. Case length is 2.250 and I got 2550 out of a 20 inch barrel and 300 grain bullets.

within a couple grains of a 375/300 winmag .. ought to shoot great.

he can call redding, and get a wsm bushing die set.. and a bushing that is .001 or 2 than the neck diameter of a case with a bullet in it.

or, of course, anneal some 325 wsm dies, and make his own...

The 375 and 338 Win mag wildcat is an oldie dating back to the days of the introduction of the 300 Win mag and of course the wildcatters without jobs and lots of time on their hands went wild and up and downed the case in every direction..What the 300 did in big bores is beat the 338 cased wildcats like the Chatfield Taylors by a tad and didn't quite equal the big 375 H&H cases like the .416 Rem or 375 H&H...

Like most wildcats today, they do the same thing with a different name and wild claims of grandure.

I met a guy in Idaho who was trying to stuff a 400 gr 416 in a 325 WSM case. I have no idea how that worked out for him but damn if he wasn't determined...
