I was at my local Ganders today and they had a Win. mod 70 in 458 win. mag. used, for $799.00 The tag said Win. mod 70 Mauser action. I don't remember what was written on the barrel but It was in another language. It had two cross bolts and was in very nice shape. Value? I was thinking of trading in my 458 lott #1 tropical.

You need to provide more information.

Whether it's a push-feed or CRF being the most critical.

Mauser action might be an incorrect reference to CRF.

The "another language" comment needs a bit more explanation. What language?

Custom barrel? A bit strange.

Model 70's either controlled feed or push feed, are modified Mauser type actions. The foreign language is not right, Winchester never in my knowledge used any foreign made barrels, to be marked in another language. Was the receiver stamped Wincheser

Whats wrong with your 458 Lott? I'd much rather
have the Lott then a 458 Win Mag. To each his own I guess. Sounds like a fair price.
