How can you figure out when a mauser was built if the previous owner didn't know any details and I can't get ahold of the original owner. It looks like a DWM Berlin and I want to know more about the gun. When it was made and how long they made these guns etc.
Thanks in advance

Not familiar with any early 404s built on DWMs, I believe those were all Oberndorfs, including the British trade. Probably a modern custom? Production dates of 404s built on Oberndorfs can be determined from the serial number, see Jon Speed's book.

#'s on bbl and action are the same. I was told it came from Germany in early 80's but don't know if it was new or used at that time. Round count through the gun is 16.
