I just installed a set of Tally rings on my 416 Rem, Lever type. The first trip out on spring bear hunt I had a problem with the levers getting caught on my pack ( I guess ). And they would back out. Lucky me I caught it every time.
I have several set of these mounts but this is the first set with the levers.
My question is... What can I put on the screws to make them hang on, I don't want to use loc tite. One of my friends said bees wax, but that doesent sound right. Just need some resistance..
Ideas???? Confused Thanks for your help.. Maddog

beeswax will work,
I use it all the time.

First started using it on screw points for arrows. Keeps the points from working loose and rattling all the way to the target.

I don't see why it wouldn't work on the levers.

I use Bowstring wax on every thread on my guns except of bases. I use it on every thread on my bows aslo. Action screws on my rifles do not work loose. Do not knock it until you try it. Seems to keep things torqued where you want them and keeps threads lubed. You can get it at Wal-mart for about 3 bucks lasts forever.

I have the lever Talley's and don't have the issue. I think this is because I make sure the levers are set up to be pointing toward each other and the scope adjustment turret. Maybe that and the wax (which I haven't tried since I haven't needed it)?

I don't have any problem with my rings either, I make shure to index them properly so that they don't point up.
