to do what is intended. in the last 8months, I have bought 3 1917's. gave 1 away and sold 2. yesterday I bought another one. this time I see a 458 of some flavor being built on it.

I like the Lott (had one on an enfield) but am interested on just a plain winmag. I've never owned a winny and I'm sure its more than enough (actualy I know) for my hunting purposes.

Then the 416's come into play. decision, decision.

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

They make a wonderful .50 caliber on the 416 Rigby case. Ask me how I know.

Joel/AK,

If the .458WinMag is sufficient for your needs, then stick with that cartridge.

Does the mag box on the Enfield allow you to load the .458WM 'long'?

The best use of the 458 Win Mag case is a foundation for a 416 Taylor, and for Alaska, no better cartridge exists!

The best way to turn that thing into a 458 win mag is top sell it and buy one outright.

It costs a lot less and a new gun is worth more if you decide some day to let it go.
